Why we built this

Lessonsuite started with a conversation with a primary teacher about how she actually plans. Her school gives her the crucial knowledge statement. She opens a blank PowerPoint. She makes the worksheet from scratch. That is her evening.

Nothing about that is teaching, and she is very good at teaching.

So we built the thing she described: notes in, a plan and a deck and a worksheet out, with her reviewing every step, because a lesson that is not hers is no use to her.

Everything since has been shaped by teachers. The curriculum mapping was reviewed by practising primary teachers. The flow changed several times because teachers told us it was confusing. It will keep changing for the same reason.

We are not finished. Units and schemes of work are next, then pupil-level plans that slot into the class plan, then homework and marking. The aim is the whole planning load, not one slice of it.
